Background: Born in Autapini, Pago Pago, American Samoa (Parents: Rev. Dr. Ioselani Pouesi of Apia, & Faailoga Tiualii of Pago Pago). My first music teacher was my father (Prolific composer of Church Music). Although I was introduced to our family's upright piano at the age of six and began playing at seven, I did not play for the church choir until I was old enough (9 yrs old) to use the small church pump organ (reed organ/laau pamu).

Namulauulu has extensive experience as music director for various churches, and as a composer and adjudicator for music festivals in American Samoa, New Zealand, and the United States. He has composed works for chorus and orchestra in California; hymns, psalms, and anthems for the Churches in American Samoa (EFKAS, EFIS, Catholic, Methodist). He is married to Lulu Ah Mu (Daughter of Fevaea'i and Foini Ah Mu) from Aua, American Samoa (Children: Grace, Max, Saui'a and Foini).
Namulauulu currently heads the Fine Arts Department at the American Samoa Community College and runs his own "Le Nota" School of Music (Established 1992). In addition, he serves as Minister of Music for the CCCAS Vatia Choir (2000-Present).

University of Southern California (1990-1992). My special thanks to Dr. James Vail (Chair, Church and Choral Department) for his professional guidance. It has been a great honor and experience to be a member in his renowned choir. Singing the baritone solo part in one of Bernstein's Masterpieces is beyond words to describe. The USC Chamber Singers and the Concert Choir under Dr. Vail have been invited to perform for the Pope in Rome and many ACDA Conferences.

United Samoan Church, Carson, CA. My special thanks to Elder Dr. Elia Ta'ase and his lovely wife Mrs Galoane Sunia-Ta'ase for their love and endless support. Dr. Ta'ase was the Moderator for all my Senior, Master and Doctoral Recitals at the University of Redlands and the University of Southern California.
My dearest Uncle Rev. George A. Viena and his lovely wife Mauelua Viena, who founded the United Samoan Church, will always remain in my heart. Their prayers, love, financial support and dreams to make me one of the best Samoan composer and faipese have finally come true. But I'm still learning and working on new projects everyday.
